A presentation by Sean Peacock a socio-technical process designed to engage children in an ongoing urban design project—Streets for People—in Newcastle, UK. The talk was delivered at CHI 2018, Montreal (ACM CHI Conference on Human Factors in Computing Systems).

Edinburgh Festival Fringe
Entertaining and comedic routines performed as a part of the Beltane Network’s festival offering. This included Keep the Kids Out, by Dr Jenny Wood and Anna Gaffney on children’s increasing exclusion from urban environments (Cabaret of Dangerous Ideas); and Banana Nimbyism (Bright Club), by Dr Jenny Wood, which has had a re-airing at various town planning events, and the Fringe’s BBC tent.

Case Study: Towards the Child-Friendly City Conference, Bristol
In 2019 APiC were one of the partners involved in this new and highly successful international conference, Towards the Child-Friendly City. This brought renowned speakers on the topic of children’s rights in the built environment to Bristol on 27-29 November 2019. It was hosted by Bristol City Council and led by the European Network for Child Friendly Cities.
