“Pretence about anything sometimes deceives the wisest and shrewdest man, but however cunningly it is hidden, a child of the meanest capacity feels it and is repelled by it”
Case study: Developing a Place Standard Tool for Children and Young People
Working in partnership with Play Scotland, we helped young Scottish citizens to co-create two new versions of the Place Standard Tool to use with children and with young people.
As a part of this project we used an experiential mapping approach where nursery, primary and secondary school children. They were from diverse circumstances and settings, and took us on tours of their villages, towns and cities, mapping the place that they lived. They identified themes and priorities for local action, as well as co-producing new prompts and ideas for engaging other children and young people in placemaking.
“Everyone really enjoyed reading through your report. The young person’s map and action priorities really emphasised that they’re saying the same things over and over. It really is time for things to change!” Client Testimonial
